Pixar fans are freaking out about how real the animated cat in the new ‘Toy Story 4’ teaser looks

A cat got Pixar fans’ tongues Friday after the studio released a new teaser trailer for “Toy Story 4.”
At the 18-second mark, Hamm the piggy bank tells the other toys “heads up” to warn them about a nearby cat. What proceeds is a clip of a crazy-realistic-looking animated cat stretching in the sunlight.
The cat looks so real, some social media users didn’t initially realize it was animation. See for yourself.

I'm shocked by how good the CGI animation for this cat looks in Toy Story 4. I swear it looks like live action footage incorporated into a CG background. pic.twitter.com/K2UcewwJ0v

Some have pointed out the startling difference between the animation in the first “Toy Story” film versus the fourth. It gives an interesting glimpse at just how far Pixar’s animation has come.

Last month, “Toy Story” fans were quick to jump on how different the animation of Andy looks in “Toy Story 4” versus the original “Toy Story” movie.

Bo Peep has also gone through her own animation transformation, looking a little more slick and streamlined than she did in the first film.
“Toy Story 4” hits theaters June 21.
