Is ‘Avengers: Endgame’ villain Thanos coming back to ‘Fortnite’ soon?
Apr 12, 2019
Thanos isn’t just coming back to “Avengers: Endgame.” He’s returning to “Fortnite.”
Last year, Epic Games and Marvel partnered up for “Fortnite” to bring Thanos into the battle royale-style game. Gamers could find the Infinity Gauntlet, wear it, and then become pretty much unbeatable in the game.
Well, it looks like the character will be returning. A “Fortnite” data miner revealed that the line “yielded to the power of Thanos” exists in the game’s files.
Yes, but: As ComicBook.com notes, the line could be left over from last year’s addition and the data miners are only now discovering it.
Bigger picture: “If Thanos is coming back to the game, which seems likely at this point, the question is: in what capacity? Will he once again be featured in PvP? Maybe, but doing the same thing again seems kind of boring, which is why fans are convinced he will be added into Creative Mode or will have some type of Limited Time Mode built around him. Who knows. Unfortunately, at the moment, all we can do is speculate.”
Flashback: Last year about Thanos’ appearance in the game. There was only one Thanos weapon in the game that could give you unlimited power to defeat your enemies.
- “That seems like a lot of power, considering the Infinity Gauntlet with all of the Infinity Stones can basically do anything imaginable, including change time, warp reality and kill anyone,” according to Mashable. “How exactly it will work in ‘Fortnite’ remains to be seen, but rest assured it probably won’t be a fair fight.”
- And it makes sense that Thanos would find himself in the “Fortnite” universe since he has the Reality Stone, which would allow him to switch reality planes.
- Fans weren’t a huge fan of the Thanos character at first. Epic Games later changed his power and made him weaker.
Thanos will return in “Avengers: Endgame” as well on April 26.
