Adam Sandler will return to “Saturday Night Live” as a guest host this spring.
Variety reports that Sandler, who got his start on the show in the ‘90s, will return May 4 to host the live sketch comedy. He will join musical performer Shawn Mendes.
Sandler joined the show in 1990 as a writer before becoming an on-stage “SNL” actor from 1991 to 1995, according to Variety.
“We are happy to welcome Adam back to ‘SNL’ in what is sure to be a special night,” said executive producer Lorne Michaels, according to Fox News.
Bigger picture: Sandler’s career only took off from there, as he became a household Hollywood name. He starred in such comedies as “Big Daddy,” “Billy Madison” and “Happy Gilmore,” among dozens more.
More recently, Sandler signed a deal with Netflix. His comedy show “100% Fresh” is available for streaming. His next movie, “Murder Mystery” starring Jennifer Aniston, will drop later this year, according to Variety.
