SALT LAKE CITY–Former Bonneville President and CEO Bruce Reese has passed away at age 70.
“He was a fine president and outstanding community leader,” said Keith McMullin, CEO of Deseret Management Corporation, which owns Bonneville International.
Reese joined Bonneville as general counsel in 1984 and served as president from 1996 to 2010. Under his leadership, Bonneville stations won more than 40 Crystal and Marconi awards from the NAB, through a philosophy of strong local talent and service to community.
In 2010, Reese took the President/CEO role at Hubbard Radio.
Reese’s community activities included the United Way of Salt Lake Board of Directors and Intermountain Healthcare Board of Trustees. He also served as Chair of the Joint Radio and Television Boards of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and as a director of the Associated Press.
Bruce began his career as an attorney in Washington, D.C. and worked in the anti-trust division of the Department of Justice.
“We are grateful for Bruce’s service to Bonneville and his commitment to community,” said Bonneville President Darrell Brown.
Reese is survived by his wife Lu Ann, their seven children, four daughters-in-law, two sons-in law, and twenty grandchildren.
