Multiple reports suggest Disney plans to remove smoking areas across its parks.
The Disney will soon remove all smoking areas from within its parks, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
The smoking and vaping areas won’t be present at Walt Disney World or Disneyland theme parks, water parks, the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex or Downtown Disney in California, according to WDW News Today.
Smoking areas will be available outside the park entrances and at Disney Springs in Florida, according to a Disney blog post.
Disney hopes the new areas “will help with guest flow and reduce congestion in its often crowded parks,” according to the Sentinel.
“Star Wars” impact: According to the Sentinel, Disneyland and Walt Disney World are opening the new “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge” 14-acre expansion. The smoking area at Disneyland is being removed to make room for the new land.
Date: The ban will happen on May 1.
