‘Scooby-Doo’ reboot to star Zac Efron and Amanda Seyfried as Fred and Daphne

Scooby-Doo is coming back to the big screen, and Zac Efron and Amanda Seyfried are slated to voice Fred and Daphne for the upcoming film.

What’s happening: Warner Brothers Animation Group is reportedly planning an animated Scooby-Doo reboot called “Scoob” that is set for release in 2020.

According to Deadline, Zac Efron will voice Fred Jones and Seyfried will voice Daphne Blake for the film.
Other voice actors that have been lined up for the film are Will Forte, who will play Shaggy, Gina Rodriguez, who will play Velma, Tracy Morgan as the character Captain Caveman and Frank Welker, who will be reprising his role as Scooby-Doo. “Scoob” will be directed by Tony Cervone with Chris Columbus, Pam Coats and Allison Abbate producing, according to Deadline.

What will “Scoob” be about: “Scoob” will reportedly show the Mystery Inc. teaming up with other characters in the Hanna-Barbera universe to save the world from Dick Dastardly, a villain whose most famous appearance was in the show “Wacky Races.”

“Scoob” will be the first time since Warner’s “Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed” was released in 2004 that Scooby and the gang have appeared on the silver screen.

“Scoob” is reportedly scheduled for release in May 2020.
