Disney’s ‘Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge’ theme parks opening dates announced

Disney CEO Bob Iger announced the opening dates for the upcoming “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge” theme parks.
Iger said that the park will open at Disneyland on May 31 and at Walt Disney World on Aug. 29.
Iger announced the dates at the annual meeting of shareholders in St. Louis, Missouri, according to Good Morning America.
The parks will open earlier than expected. Most considered them to open during the summer and fall.
According to Disney, the opening day for phase one will include the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ride, where guests literally take control of the Millennium Falcon.
Phase two, which opens later this year, will include the Rise of Resistance, where guests can either battle as the First Order or the Resistance.
“In light of tremendous demand, Disney made the decision to open the land in phases to allow guests to sooner enjoy the one-of-a-kind experiences that make Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge so spectacular,” according to the company.
Guests who want to visit the park between May 31 and June 23, 2019, will need to have theme park admission and are required to make a no-cost reservation to access the “Star Wars”-themed land, according to Disney.
Multiple news organizations visited Disneyland’s park last week.
