Move over, AirPods, Louis Vuitton’s got a new earbud that will cost you $1,000

Last month, Apple AirPods became the butt-end of an internet-wide joke about how the $159 earbuds are a status symbol of the wealthy.

This month, Louis Vuitton “challenge accepted” that notion by releasing a pair of earbuds that come in at just under $1,000.
What’s happening: Louis Vuitton is releasing a “new” wireless earbud called the Louis Vuitton Horizon, except it’s not new — it’s the Master & Dynamic MW07 with a Louis Vuitton logo and it’s going to cost you $995, according to Hypebeast.
Billed as earbuds that are “designed to look as good as they sound,” the MW07 buds run at $299 without the Louis Vuitton logo.
- According to The Verge, Louis Vuitton’s Horizons “appear to be virtually identical to the MW07s, barring a new, circular charging case with LV logos.”
- The earbuds will come in three different styles: black, red, and black with blue and orange logos.
Release: There hasn’t been a formal announcement for the bud’s release, but according to The Verge, supply will likely be limited when an announcement is made.
What do you think? Would you buy $1,000 earpods?
