Steve Carrell to star in ‘Space Force,’ a Netflix show from creators of ‘The Office.’ Watch the teaser

Jan 16, 2019

Steve Carell will star in a new workplace comedy series called “Space Force.”

The show, which will run on Netflix, will be “about the people tasked with creating a sixth branch of the armed services: the Space Force!”

  • “On June 18, 2018, the federal government announced the creation of a sixth major division of the United States armed forces.
  • “The goal of the new branch is ‘to defend satellites from attack’ and ‘perform other space-related tasks’ or something,” the trailer reads.
  • “This is the story of the men and women who have to figure it out.”

Watch the teaser trailer below.

Carell and “The Office” creator Greg Daniels created the show.

The Netflix series’ title is a direct reference to, well, the Space Force, the reported sixth military branch established by President Donald Trump.

The show arrives after months of speculation about a reboot of “The Office.”
