KBLX’s Stone Soul event brings families together for great music and food
Jun 13, 2018
SAN FRANCISCO–More than 18 thousand people enjoyed KBLX’s 21st annual Stone Soul event! Every year, families from all over the Bay Area come out to enjoy the concert.
Stone Soul used to be held at The Dunsmuir House and Gardens, a historic landmark nestled in the Oakland Foothills, but the crowd continued to grow so it needed to be moved to a larger venue. Cal State University’s Pioneer Amphitheatre was able to accommodate the growing crowd for a bit, but soon, Stone Soul needed even more space. The event now takes places at the Concord Pavilion, an amphitheater with a 12,500 seat capacity!
This year’s line-up included Frankie Beverley and Maze, Keith Sweat, Babyface, Johnny Gill, Zapp, Rob Base, Leela James, Musiq Soulchild, Stokley, Angela Winbush, Joe and Ro James.
Previous line-ups have included artists such as The Isley Brothers, Teena Marie, Chaka Khan, Cameo and Rick James.
People are already looking forward to next year’s festivities!
