Phoenix’s KTAR-FM Recognized for Community Service Efforts
KTAR-FM was recently awarded the prestigious National Association of Broadcasters’ (NAB) Crystal Radio Award for their outstanding year-round commitment to community service. Each year at the NAB Show in Las Vegas, radio stations from across the United States are recognized for their community service. KTAR-FM was one of 10 winners of this year’s Crystal Award, chosen from a pool of 50 finalists. Bonneville had six total nominations in that pool of 50 including: KTAR-FM and KMVP-FM (Phoenix), KRSP-FM, KSL-AM, and KSFI-FM (Salt Lake City), and KYGO-FM (Denver). This is the fourth time in the last decade that KTAR has won a Crystal Award. KTAR-FM previously won in 2014 and 2016 and KTAR-AM won in 2007.
A panel of judges representing broadcasting, community service organizations and public relations firms chose the winners. The judges highlighted, among other things, the KTAR produced Give-A-Thon for Phoenix Children’ Hospital which has become the largest children’s hospital fundraiser of its kind in the United States.
Congratulations to all of the employees of KTAR-FM for this award! We appreciate their continual commitment to Bonneville’s mission to build up our communities and make a positive difference.
