KSL NewsRadio, which broadcasts on 1160 AM and 102.7 FM, is Utah’s top-rated radio station. It provides our market news, traffic, weather and talk. With Utah’s leading radio talent and talk show hosts, KSL NewsRadio informs and enlightens its listeners every day, whether they are on the road, in their home or office, or on the go. KSL NewsRadio supports many worthy causes throughout the year, including literacy, the children at Primary Children’s Medical Center and KSL’s own Quarters for Christmas, which provides shoes, clothing and coats to Utah’s needy children.
KSL NewsRadio began broadcasting on May 6, 1922. On July 15, 1929, the famed Mormon Tabernacle Choir began its long-standing radio program by broadcasting on KSL. In 1932, KSL became one of the first 50,000-watt, clear-channel radio stations in the country. On Sept. 3, 2005, KSL NewsRadio began to simulcast on the FM dial, to better serve the needs of our changing listeners.
From its very first broadcast, where it was stated that KSL’s mission was to be a “source of reliable information and community service,” to today, KSL NewsRadio has worked relentlessly to advance the interests of the citizens of Utah and to provide those citizens with the best quality broadcast signal and with the highest quality programming radio can deliver. KSL NewsRadio is committed to continue that work.
